This is an intensive program designed to take students to a higher level. The student must have achieved an excellent understanding of ballet technique. The primary focus will be to strengthen the technique and enhance the dancer’s artistic performance quality. The students will take classes in pointe, variations, modern, jazz and Youth America Grand Prix rehearsals. Advancing through the pre-professional level is based on each student’s technical ability, proper physical proportions, potential and commitment to a serious training regimen. Student Division The Student Division is divided into seven levels for students ages 7 and older. The syllabus and curriculum of the student division will further formalize the classroom structure and give the students a better understanding of the proper fundamentals of the ballet technique with an emphasis on correct alignment and ballet terminology. Ability, maturity and consistency are instrumental to a child’s progress through the student division levels and skills are evaluated more seriously for advancement. It is not uncommon for students to repeat a particular level to allow the body to grow into the technical requirements.
